MCSO Queen Creek Recruiting Youth with an Interest in Law Enforcement for Local Explorer Squad

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Explorer Post 2502 is expanding to Queen Creek. The Queen Creek Squad is seeking youth between the ages of 14 and 20 with an interest in law enforcement and a desire to serve. A recruiting meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 4 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Queen Creek High School, 22149 E. Ocotillo Road. Regular meetings will be held every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.; the official start date and location are still being finalized. 

mcso logoExplorers gain experience related to law enforcement through training and ride alongs with deputies. Explorers also have the opportunity to participate in tournaments and competitions representing MCSO Explorer Post 2502.

The Explorer program is a nationwide program open to individuals 14 – 20 years of age who meet the following requirements:

  • Complete an MCSO/Learning for Life application
  • Good mental and physical condition
  • No felony or serious misdemeanor convictions, or major traffic violations
  • Maintain a 2.0 (C) grade point average
  • Must attend 80% of all meetings and events
  • Individuals under 18 years must obtain written permission from their parent or legal guardian
