Queen Creek Recognized as a Playful City USA Community

Post Date:06/17/2015 12:10 p.m.

The Town of Queen Creek is one of 241 communities being honored with the 2015 Playful City USA designation, a program of KaBOOM! The national recognition program honors cities and towns across the county for making their community more playable. In addition to having beautiful parks, an extensive multi-use trail system and great recreation programs, the Town opened a Splash Pad and Pocket Park for Pups in 2014, both in the heart of the community. The Town also initiated a partnership with Bounce Boot Camp in 2014 that provides a fun and exciting way to stay active by combining inflatable equipment with speed drills in a fast-paced, boot camp setting.

“A playful community is a happy community. We encourage play for all ages through our programs and amenities,” shared Mayor Gail Barney. “We are committed to providing our residents with safe and easy access to parks and play spaces. I hope everyone, especially our youth, takes the time to ‘unplug’ and play!”

Queen Creek is joining cities and towns across the nation who are making play an integral component of the community. “Playability is crucial to the success of our future communities, and we are proud of the work these cities and leaders are doing to provide a better quality of life for all residents, and especially families,” says KaBOOM! President, James Siegal. “Play provides a competitive advantage for cities looking to attract and retain residents. With these esteemed leaders, and our friends and partners across the country, we continue to prioritize play.”
