Queen Creek Town Council Honors Star Students

Feb 4 Star StudentsThirty-nine students that go above and beyond were honored by the Queen Creek Town Council on Feb. 3 during the Star Students ceremony. Each participating school is invited to select students to be recognized. Students were nominated by their teachers for displaying citizenship, service and integrity.

The following students were recognized:

American Leadership Academy – Queen Creek Campus: Samuel Hunsaker, Sage Overton, Taven Mei and Nathaniel Rogers

American Leadership Academy – Ironwood Campus: Anna Heiken

Auxier Elementary School: Kirsten Dupree, Tayla Palacio and Reed Shephard

Benjamin Franklin - Crismon Campus: Lilly Ballingham, Jayton Farnsworth, Elias Heaton and Aaron Quezada-Fimbres

Benjamin Franklin - Power Campus: Isabella Basoco, Coleson Bowen, Evelyn Humphrey and Garrison Larson

Cortina Elementary: Kylia Brown, Diesel Mack, Avery Roberts and Blake Westover

Desert Mountain Elementary: Olivia Abril, Tyler Lines, Natalia Quintero and Shayden Tryon

Frances Brandon Pickett Elementary: Zander Adamson, Mason Osborne, Zoey Summer, Karah Sutton and Aubrie Zachary

Gateway Polytechnic Academy: Luis Duarte, Spenser Halcomb and Taylor Woody

Jack Barnes Elementary: Gavan Cournoyer, Quinn Covington, Juliana Jazwinski, Olive Jones, Ayden Vogan, Zachary Evans and Rees Walker 

“We are fortunate to have so many wonderful students in Queen Creek,” commented Mayor Gail Barney. “It is important that we take the time to recognize their contributions to their peers, their schools and our community. Honoring our star students is one of our favorite tasks as a council, and we are thrilled that the number of star students keeps increasing.”
